I don’t want to be here anymore. I want a little apartment in Boston with a little Yorkie and my girl. I want my floor to be covered with stacks of musical scores and magazines. I want to wake up at the crack of dawn to go to my classes at Berklee. I want to perform at open mic nights on the weekends and have mind blowing sex for hours. I want to be able to drive to see Maleiya and Mailanni and take them out and rotten their stomaches with junk food. I want to be able to see my grandfather before he passes. I want to be there when Julia starts ballet. I want to teach Jonathan how to play guitar. I want to be at every game and recital and dinner. I want to laugh and pull pranks with my uncles. I want to be able to smell the ocean from my kitchen again. I want to bundle up with seven layers of clothing in the winter. I want to be there. I don’t want to be here.

I’m getting there. By this time next year I will be in Boston. I’m making that promise to myself now. It’s going to happen. I’m taking my life into my own hands.
